Dennis, Janet and The Beetham Family have been big supporters of the Coos County Fair & Rodeo and Coos County 4-H program for many years.
The history of this connection started in 1978 when Dennis’s daughter, Denesa, caught a lamb at the Coos County Rodeo her first year in Horse 4-H. Two years later she had a Reserve Champion lamb from her ewe in the Coos County Youth Auction. Over the years, they have supported Coos County youth and their projects. Janet grew up in Portland and was involved in 4-H Sewing and Cooking.
Dennis and Janet first met in 1958 as Freshman at Portland State College. They went their separate ways in 1960 and their lives reconnected in 2007. They were married September 9th, 2009 at the Oregon Gardens in Silverton and currently reside on their ranch in North Bend. Dennis and Janet have 5 children, 11 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren, Teddy (dog), and Kitty Bear (Cat). They both enjoy playing tennis every weekday at the Boys and Girls Club before going to work. They are active in community and cultural organizations, and enjoy traveling and gardening. They continue to work full-time at their local businesses, D.B. Western Inc. and Advance Clean Water Technology LLC.
Dennis has been serving on the Boy Scout Eagle Board and Oregon State Police Board Foundation. In addition, they actively support many local organizations in the community - Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, 4-H, SWOCC, Boys and Girls Club, Coos Historical Museum, and many others. Their family helped build the current Livestock Show & Auction Arena building at the Coos County Fair Grounds. They also are big advocates of education and have supported local libraries, SWOCC and Oregon Universities in gifting computer labs and building projects.
Dennis and Janet enjoy going to the Coos County Fair and the Coos Youth Livestock Auction where they see our county youth in action and observe how our community pulls together for this event.
