Abbey Dieu is the daughter of Jeff and Sara Dieu, along with her brother Clayton. She has lived in Coquille all her life. In 2007 the Dieu family encountered a huge tragedy, when Jeff was injured in a logging accident. He was hospitalized for many months. During this time, Abbey realized what her horses meant to her. Abbey is very dedicated to her horses, academics and athletics. Horses, being so important to her, take up a lot of her time. Abbey takes riding lessons and she is very active in the 4-H horse program and the Southwestern Oregon Horsemen's Association. She participates on Coquille High School's varsity basketball and volleyball teams. She is in leadership and the National Honor Society. She was on the honor roll going into her junior year of high school. After high school, Abbey is going to attend college to earn a degree in the medical field. She plans to work at Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay as a Registered Nurse and continue to ride and live in Coquille.
